Caesars Moves Globe Series Of Poker To Bally’s Las Vegas As Part Of Casino Rebrand

The World Series of Poker is returning home in a big way. On Wednesday, Caesars Entertainment announced that the Horseshoe brand is returning to Las Vegas, as the Bally’s Las Vegas casino will rebrand.

The modify will be in progress this spring with a projected completion date of inside 2022. Caesars said that the project will contain a renovated exterior, new entertainment and dining possibilities, and a “reimagined” casino floor.

The casino sits on the Las Vegas Strip, at the corner of Flamingo Rd. Caesars called it the “50-yard line” of the Strip, the city’s world-renowned casino corridor.

“Bringing the Horseshoe brand back to life in Las Vegas enables us to celebrate each our history and our future,” mentioned Sean McBurney, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment. “2022 begins a new era for the Caesars Entertainment empire in Las Vegas, 1 being heralded by the return of Horseshoe.”

The annual Globe Series of Poker will be held at the casino complex this upcoming summer. Caesars noted that it’s the 1st time the iconic poker festival is on the Strip. The WSOP started in the 1970s at the original Binion’s Horseshoe Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. The Series sooner or later moved to the Rio Hotel &amp Casino, situated a short drive off the Strip.

In 2004, then Harrah’s Entertainment acquired the rights to the WSOP, and the following year the series was held at the Rio. The move helped accommodate the enormous boom in popularity in poker at the time, with the sprawling Rio Convention Center replacing the relatively cramped Horseshoe. The new Horseshoe at what is now Bally’s Las Vegas will have a lot of event space to accommodate the WSOP.

The WSOP moving from the Rio had been rumored for years, with Caesars in 2019 promoting the Rio to a true estate organization for $516 million but continuing to host the WSOP there.

“We couldn’t be far more excited to see the World Series of Poker return to Horseshoe,” said Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the Globe Series of Poker. “Horseshoe is exactly where it all began for WSOP. It’s often been a brand for gamblers and card players. As we move WSOP to the Las Vegas Strip for the 1st time, that it will occur at Horseshoe tends to make it extremely specific.”

The 53rd running of the WSOP will run Might 31 to July 19, 2022 at the casino.
